Now that the first quarter is over, I can more easily relate to you the power of focusing on just a few areas of your life, even as you set intentions and choices for all areas.

My winter quarter focus was primarily on health.  As you can imagine, after the holidays, and honestly after 6 months of nurturing myself with comfort food during my transition to Texas, I was feeling a bit pudgy and out of shape.

My intention for the health area of my life was (and is):

I look and feel FANTASTIC!
My clothes fit well and my body/mind is relaxed.

In early January, that was not my reality, but it was definitely my vision of how I wanted my health to be.
As for my choices of how I wanted to bring that intention into reality, I wasn’t yet sure what form of exercise and healthy eating was going to feel best and work best for me.  I first investigated options for exercises I had used in the past:  I found ultimate frisbee pickup games I could join in on, I found a Curves exercise place nearby, and I tried using the cross-country machine that was available to me.  None of it sounded appealing.

So I started taking some long, brisk walks around the neighborhood and marking my calendar for every day that I took a walk – aiming to exercise every day or every other day at the least.  Then a friend of mine loaned me her exercise video and I really liked it – enough that I bought my own.  With the variety of exercises in the video I was really happy to use it every day and I marked my calendar in big black pen with which of the three videos in the set I had used for my workout.

As January came to a close, I didn’t notice my clothes fitting better yet, but I was more inclined to eat healthier foods and I was really proud of what I was doing every day for my health intention.

I kept going.  I kept exercising and marking my calendar.  And last week I celebrated by wearing my cute little blue dress to a fancy dinner and I felt *FINE*! (you know how to say that with the right emphasis!)

So now as I set my intentions and choices for the 2nd quarter of 2008 I’m going to choose a different life area as my primary focus: Business & Career.  Here’s my intention:

I enjoy and deliver PROSPERITY in all my businesses!
I transform millions of lives with my coaching, workshop/retreats, and inspirational products.

I am still marking my calendar each day that I work out, and now I’m also marking my calendar each day that I do anything towards my transformational businesses.

I’ve learned a great way (for me) of planting and nurturing seeds and now I’m going to plant some yummy business vision seeds.  I can hardly wait to tell you what’s sprouted by the end of the quarter!

This is very interesting. I think I might give it a try.
